Online Publishing Houses

Like I said on the front page, I remember when you wanted to publish a book you had to send query letters and manuscripts and there were pages of guidelines and you wound up waiting weeks and months and years just to find out you weren't getting published. Now-a-days with the advent of the internet things are a lot more easy. Now writers can write, publish and even have their own shop. The problem now is how to get their book advertised and known to the public! Some, including myself, are just happy in the knowledge that the book was published in the first place and consider that a truly enormous accomplishment.

I believe that there are many talented writers out there. Their grammar may not be perfect nor their spelling, but they have a gift of storytelling and should have their works published and let the public determine whether or not they want to read the book and not some high paid editor with only his personal opinion.

When AOL first came out with chat rooms, I met a fellow writer and he would share with me what he was writing. I thought it was rather rough writing grammatically speaking, but really loved the idea and throughly enjoy reading everything he sent me. I hope that he is somewhere out there publishing away because I think he should! My only advice is to let a friend read your finished drafts before you publish. You are far too close to the work to be unbiased and a friend could really help you out.

Good luck and come back when you're published and advertise on my "Share Your Book" page.
