A New Forum! 01/10/2010

I'm working on a new forum! Check back later!

When I began this website I was thinking about making it for research purposes. You know, I place to find information to use to write stories. As I slowly grow into my own writing, I find myself looking for places for encouragement and ideas for new writers. So I decided that this website should be just that! Of course, everyone is welcome here, but I would like to focus on new writers since that is where I am. I hope you are liking the new changes! They'll keep comin'!

With my last book published, I took some time to figure out if I wanted to change publishing sites. I took a look at Bookemon.com and although I really like it's clean appearance, I think that Lulu.com is not only well known, but it's also cheaper. People are more likely to purchase an inexpensive book rather than one that is just too costly. So I've decided to stay with Lulu!

I'm currently working on my next book. It's a kids book about a group of witches. I'm really looking forward to writing this one because I think it's going to be really funny and light-hearted. I've already outlined my next Sumner Bay novel and it's ready to roll just as soon as I finish this current manuscript. The next Sumner Bay book will have to do with honesty!

I keep finding really cool things on the internet. I just found a new reading community called weread.com. It's a readers' community that allows you to build a book shelf, review books that you've read and to recommend books to others. Check it out!

I found a great website for writers called Writer's Cafe! It allows users to post their writing and let other writers review and critique the work. It's really set up nice and it's easy to use and there are a variety of ages too which is nice. Check it out when you get a chance.

Right now I'm busy trying to populate this website! I wanted to have a website all about MY writing, but thought that writers learn from one another and it would be a great thing to make my website into more of a resource for writers of ALL kinds! Besides, I like to hear what other writers are doing and how they organize their writings.

I got another story idea the other night. So many of my story ideas are from dreams. I swear there is a muse above my head screaming "I keep giving you ideas now WRITE!". With so many other things to do I just don't take the time. I really thought that once the kids went off to school then maybe I would take more time to write. No. I take more time to clean the house and do laundry. Maybe I'll take the opportunity to be the first submission on the "Help Me!" page. Got any ideas for me? Hop over there and help me out.

Aftermath 07/08/2009

With the joys of publication behind me, it's now time to sit down and figure out what to do next. I have a TON of notes that I have to organize which I'm currently doing as well as jotting down a few notes about the next book in the Sumner Bay series. I

12 years of work and it's finally done! Okay, not a full, uninterrupted 12 years. I took some time out to work, get married and have a couple of kids. :)  It feels good to finally finish my first book in the Sumner Bay series.

Now that it's finished, I've

Woo hoo! 05/03/2009

I have FINALLY got a good copy of my very first book. It took a while to get the formatting right and I'm not 100% happy with it, but I think it's a fine first book. Now I have to go over t
